Privacy
This is a personal, non-commercial website. It uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking, and it loads nothing from third-party servers. Below is what does happen with data when you visit it.

Hosting
This website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you open a page, your browser necessarily sends technical data to Cloudflare's servers: your IP address, the page requested, date and time, browser and operating system. Cloudflare uses this data to deliver the website and to protect it against attacks and abuse, and may keep it in server logs for a limited time. I do not receive or analyse these logs.
The legal basis is my legitimate interest in providing a secure and working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare may process data in the USA; such transfers are covered by the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. More information: Cloudflare's privacy policy.
If access to the site is restricted (for example during a preview), Cloudflare Access asks for your e-mail address and sends you a one-time login code. The address is used only for this login.
Fonts and scripts
All fonts (Inter, JetBrains Mono) and scripts, including KaTeX for the formulas in the blog posts, are served from this website itself. Your browser does not contact Google Fonts or any other third-party server to display these pages.
Settings stored in your browser
If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers it on your next visit. This information never leaves your device and is not sent to me or anyone else. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
Contacting me
If you e-mail me, I use your address and message only to reply to you and delete them once they are no longer needed for that purpose, unless we stay in touch. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR.
Links to other websites
This site links to other websites such as arXiv, Google Scholar, GitHub and LinkedIn. Those sites only receive data once you click a link and visit them; their own privacy policies apply there.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to processing of your personal data. To exercise these rights, simply e-mail me. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority; in Austria this is the Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at.
